Appalachian Clay Camp is where it all started and is still a vital part of what we do. We focus on providing summer clay camps for "at-risk" in our community.
Each year the success of Appalachian Clay Camp confirms our belief that art really does have the power to transform. Our kids come to us from a background of extreme poverty, truancy, and juvenile delinquency. They leave our clay camps with the self-confidence that they can create art, the knowledge that they can think critically, solve problems, learn from their mistakes and overcome challenges - knowing that their circumstances do not define who they will become.
